Dachser Finland Oy, with the participation of ACE Logistics, opened a new logistics center in Kerava in October. The new terminal provides an opportunity to change the local distribution system and serve a significantly larger number of customers with better service quality. The energy efficiency of the logistics center is ensured by the solar panels on the roofs and the use of geothermal heat.
The new logistics center is located 30 km from Helsinki in the Kerava industrial area. The building has 4,000 square meters of terminal space and 600 square meters of office space. In the new location, Dachser will start operating distribution logistics with its own operation systems and a new environmental-friendly equipment. Logistically, this is a good location, as about 50% of Finnish businesses are concentrated around the Helsinki metropolitan area. Kerava’s new terminal is located next to the E75 motorway, from where there is also a quick connection to Vuosaari Harbor and Vantaa International Airport.
“E-commerce is constantly growing, which is also significantly reflected in our operations. In particular, deliveries from the DIY-sector directly to consumers have increased. With the help of the new logistics center, we can offer a high-quality logistics service to an even broader customer base. At the same time, we connect Finland on a daily basis and directly to the extensive and reliable Dachser European overland transport network, ”says Tuomas Leimio, Managing Director of Dachser Finland Oy European Logistics.

ACE Logistics’ scheduled cars departure for Finland twice a day, which ensures a fast and flexible connection. It is possible to send and bring goods all over Finland through the Kerava terminal. Delivery time in Central and Southern Finland is 2-3 working days, depending on the destination. As a rule, 1-2 working days will be added to the delivery time for further areas of Northern Finland.
