The quality and development of services are extremely important to ACE Logistics. We have worked hard and invested heavily in this. In particular, the wider adoption of IT has significantly increased the efficiency of our operations. As a result of which we have been able to keep the sales prices stable for years. Input costs, such as labor, energy, fuel, terminal dues, etc. have increased significantly in recent months, which affects all the logistics sector and it is not possible for us to cover all of the above at the expense of internal efficiency, and this is the reason for the current notice.
Due to the extraordinary situation in Eastern Europe, the prices of fuel have risen exceptionally in recent weeks, which is why we are announcing that we have decided to apply a fuel surcharge to our road transport services. The calculation of the fuel surcharge is different for terminal services (aceFlex, aceSpeed, aceB2C, etc.) and for part and full load services (LTL / FTL service).
Terminal transport (aceFlex, aceSpeed, aceB2C, etc. services)
Road transport services via terminals (aceFlex, aceSpeed, aceB2C, etc.) will be supplemented with a fuel surcharge from 1.04.2022, which will be changed once a month. The fuel surcharge is based on the arithmetic average retail price of diesel fuel in Estonia in the overview published by the European Commission in the last month: https://ec.europa.eu/energy/observatory/reports/List-of-WOB.pdf. The fuel surcharge is based on the average price of the last quarter of 2021, which is 1.35 euros. The fuel surcharge coefficient (BAF) is calculated on the basis of the share of fuel consumption in total costs. The fuel surcharge is published in the first week of the beginning of each month on the website https://www.ace.ee/en/service/road-transport/baf/ and it is the basis for the fuel surcharge for the current month. In case of ad hoc inquiries, we take into account the change in the price of fuel on present basis.
Part and full loads (LTL/FTL service)
From March 21, 2022, a fuel surcharge will be added to all ACE Logistics’ road transport part and full loads (LTL/FTL service), which will be changed once a week. The fuel surcharge is based on the last week’s average retail price of diesel fuel in Estonia in an overview published by the European Commission: https://ec.europa.eu/energy/observatory/reports/List-of-WOB.pdf. The base of the fuel surcharge is the average price of the last quarter of 2021, which is 1.35 euros. The fuel surcharge coefficient (BAF) is calculated on the basis of the share of fuel consumption in total costs. The fuel surcharge is published every week on the website https://www.ace.ee/en/service/road-transport/baf and is the basis for the current week’s fuel surcharge. In case of ad hoc inquiries, we take into account the change in the price of fuel on present basis.
The use of a fuel surcharge factor – BAF (short for Bunker Adjustment Fee) will continue to allow for a prompt response to changes in the fuel market, while greatly facilitating the issuance of long-term offers. The fuel surcharge is shown on a separate line on each transport invoice.
We hope for your understanding and wish that our cooperation could be continuously successful and sustainable also in the future!
