In March, ACE Logistics Latvia relocated to a new building close to Riga Airport. As of March 4th, the address of the office and terminal is Kargo k-1, Marupe, LV-2167. The settling in period at the new location has now lasted almost three months and the first impressions so far have been very positive!
ACE Logistics Latvia will continue to provide high quality transport and logistics solutions in a new, energy efficient Class A building with over 6000 square meters of space. 3500 sqm of warehouse space with a capacity for approximately 5000 EUR pallets. In addition to transport services, this will allow ACE to offer its customers a long-term storage service and sorting of consignments for further transport. The terminal has a surface area of 2,400 square metres, which allows for the handling of various shipments by road, sea, rail and air. The new terminal will have 16 standard loading bridges, plus one for vans and one for oversized shipments. In addition to all of this is a three-story office building with a surface area of 570 square metres.
The first months of operations have shown strong signs of further progress. The terminal now has a better capacity to handle several trucks at a time, to unload containers and to make it easier for customers to deliver and collect goods themselves. There has been an increase in workload, improved truck occupancy and changes in work organisation to make it easier to manage larger volumes of goods. In addition to increased productivity, ACE Logistics Latvia has also become greener. With a strong focus on energy efficiency and reducing ecological footprint, the selection of new warehousing space was based on the criteria that the building should be equipped with air-source heat pumps, LED lighting and heated floors in the office space. In the office building, attention has also been given to comfort, for example through the use of acoustic tiles.
