For many years, ACE Logistics Estonia has continued supporting talented young people via the Estonian Union for Child Welfare Foundation, with the aim of funding their pursuit of hobby education in the form of a scholarship. This year, the scholarship program received 41 applications, from which 25 received approval for funding. The funding will be distributed via the Estonian National Culture Foundation, in total sum of 6000 EUR. The scholarships funded by ACE Logistics will be going to seven counties this year.
This year’s applicants could be divided into two categories. On the one hand, there were youngsters who asked for support in continuing their studies and training (music and art school, gymnastics, speed skating, football, Olympic boxing). On the other hand, there were youngsters who asked support for participation in contests in Estonia and abroad (dance competitions, violin festival, finswimming, tennis, table tennis, Greco-Roman wrestling, sumo wrestling, motorcycle trials).
The distribution of scholarships per county is: Harjumaa (14), Põlvamaa (3), Raplamaa (2), Jõgevamaa (2), Pärnumaa (2), Tartumaa (1), Valgamaa (1).
This year’s scholarship applications, in total sum of more than 12 500 EUR, were reviewed by the Parents Council of the Estonian Union for Child Welfare Foundation. This council also decided the applicants deemed for funding, with consideration to the propositions from sponsor ACE Logistics Estonia.
“From this year’s applications, there was evidence of a high interest to participate in international competition all across Europe. We are very glad to see that the talent of Estonian young people reaches across the country’s borders. This shows that their pursuit of hobby education deserves both attention and support, which we will continue to provide in the future,” comments Inge Parring, Quality and Personnel Manager of ACE Logistics Estonia.
Ene Tomberg, President of the Estonian Union for Child Welfare Foundation, adds: “In today’s difficult economic situation, it’s becoming much harder for young people to participate in different sports or music courses. For example, in a family of five children, who are all interested in pursuit of music education, it’s not easy for the parents to pay for all of the tuition fees. Which is why we are grateful for the collective of ACE Logistics! Their donation will help many applicants in either continuing their violin studies or participate in trainings and international competitions.” She adds: “The children are good and they need to be supported. Let’s do so together!”
We are thankful to our customers and partners, thanks to whom we can continue to support our talented young people! And we wish good luck and success to all youngsters, who in these difficult times can still find ways to pursue their hobby education!
