This year, 21 young people from all over Estonia applied for the scholarships from the Estonian Union for Child Welfare, who applied for the support to develop their talent. A positive financing decision was given to 15 of them, with whom the Estonian National Culture Foundation has signed the support agreements in the total amount of 8,200 euros. The scholarships of the fund, which were financed by ACE Logistics Estonia, are divided between eight different counties.
The Estonian Union for Child Welfare, which operates as a sub-fund of the Estonian National Culture Foundation, supports annually talented students, who are acquiring basic or secondary education, with the aim of expanding the range of opportunities for further development of their talent. In the last four years, ACE Logistics Estonia, in cooperation with its good customers, has added a significant part to the fund.
A personal scholarship is awarded for the participation in Olympiads, contests, or sports competitions, as well as for the payment of tuition fees for a hobby, sports or language school. The youngster, whom we have supported in the past have been very successful in sports, music and language studies. We decided to support the Estonian Union for Child Welfare, also in this very complicated year for everyone, with up to 10,000 euros.
A total of 21 applications were received for this year’s contest to support hobbies and studies, in the total amount of 12,482 euros. All applications were reviewed and the decision to award scholarships was made by the senior council of NPO Estonian Union for Child Welfare, of which 15 received a positive financing decision for a total amount of 8,200 euros. Scholarship receivers were children and young people aged between 8-18 who come from Harju County, Tartu County, Ida-Viru County, Saaremaa, Järva County, Pärnu County, Põlva County and Võru County.
The largest number of applications was received for continuing sports activities, including participation in international competitions and training camps. There were also many applications for continuing musical hobbies and participating in nature and acting classes. A lot of the applicants come from the families with many children or are in financial difficulties, and without this support it would be complicated to continue the journey in the field of sports or music.
This year, the focus of the Estonian Union for Child Welfare was on children who use their talent, in which they have had outstanding results in the past, to help, encourage and inspire their peers. “Our scholarship is a support aimed at contributing to the development of children’s and young people’s talents. This year, considering the situation in the World, we decided to pay special attention to those whose activities are aimed at noticing their peers and making school life more caring”, described Ene Tomberg, the President of the Estonian Union for Child Welfare.
From our side, we very much hope that ACE’s contribution will help talented young people to become even better in their field, so that they can introduce Estonia to the rest of the world through music, art or sports. Children and their parents, who already have received the support in the past, have also sent us great success stories of their children’s achievements, which we have shared with our readers.
We are grateful to all our customers and partners. Together with you, we will help to make the children’s dreams come true!
