The sixth country organization of ACE Logistics Group, which is located in Kiev, Ukraine, was established on 1.April 2020 just in the middle of COVID first wave. The first year has been successfully completed and the CEO of the company, Olena Dashko, looked back to the year and shared her first impressions.
She claims, that ACE Logistics Ukraine is quite fast developing company, but due to Corona situation in the world, the first year was full of challenges, however they managed to start successfully and achieve their goals.
“Our team grew from 1 person to 6 people, which is a good example of strong, motivated and successful team, where people give big support to each other,” says Olena Dashko, who is really pleased with all her new colleagues.
“Last year showed that we can handle not only general cargo, but we managed to handle very different kind of shipments, such as medical equipment to hospitals, or as the biggest adventure was to book monthly more than 100 full truck loads from Ukraine to France. It was possible to execute it only because of the fantastic team,” is Dashko happy to announce.
“I think this year showed extremely other way of thinking, it changed a lot of people’s minds. The biggest obstacle was the distance between the colleagues due to the lockdown, but we managed to overcome that, too. Thanks to all the online possibilities, we had a chance to be in contact, for instance we passed online sales training for the whole group, which means nothing was left undone because of the Covid. It helped people to feel, that they are working in a strong international company,” continues Olena Dashko her praise to the successful year and she adds, that in addition to the business goals, for the upcoming year they have set some more focus on the team development, as well as to their wellbeing.
The managing director of ACE Logistics Group Andres Matkur comments, that the establishment of a new branch remained straight to the center of the beginning of Corona, however starting with a new business during that period was an interesting experience on its own. “Because we managed to do the whole pre-work before that time, we decided not to postpone our plan and continued with the launch accordingly. Due to travelling has been very problematic during the previous year, we haven’t had the chance to support our Ukrainian team on site, but I would like to thank our young and active Ukrainian CEO Olena Dashko, who has managed to independently build up a well operating organization, which has accomplished on its first active year all the goals that were set. It looks promising, that the second year already would end in break-even ”, adds Andres Matkur.
ACE Logistics Ukraine has weekly regular groupage linehauls from Europe to Ukraine and from January 2021 the company also started regular groupage service from Ukraine to Europe. It helped to give better transportation rates and offer better transit times to the customers. ACE Logistics Ukraine is fully connected to the European-wide groupage network. Departures are from Poland to Ukraine twice per week, so Ukraine is this way well connected with Baltics and whole Europe.
